All of our students at ARU London have the opportunity to join our Employability Scheme during their time with us. Our aim for the Employability Scheme is to increase students’ awareness, knowledge and skills to succeed in the graduate job market, postgraduate studies or business enterprise.
The scheme, which runs during term times, consists of 3 levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold Passports. The passports require the attendance of employability development skills and Industry Exposure sessions to successfully acquire each one.
The Bronze Passport is designed for foundation and first-year students to help them understand the professional behaviour expected in the workplace and the transferable skills that would help students prepare their CV to secure a graduate role.
The Silver Passport supports our second-year students in creating a plan for their rewarding graduate career based on their skills, strengths and values. Students will use a range of activities to identify gaps and the next steps needed in their career journey.
The Gold Passport prepares our final year students for graduate recruitment by equipping them with the skills needed to network, search and apply for rewarding roles and perform well at interviews.
I received a lot of information and advice for my future career. I really liked my one to one session regarding my CV sign off, I had the opportunity to ask some questions and got back clear answers - First year student at ARU London
The most exciting part is the Industry Exposure sessions where a wide range of employers from a variety of industries come to meet our students. At the sessions, students actively explore a range of employers, careers, enterprise and postgraduate courses, and clearly understand what the current market trends are and the employability related expectations of students during and after their studies.
Students will be invited to celebrate themselves along with other passport holders at the Employability Awards.
ARU London students are automatically enrolled in the Employability Scheme sessions via the Online Learning portal on our website or via the myARUL app. Please follow these instructions on how to join the Employability Passport and Industry Exposure sessions online. If you are facing any difficulties accessing them through these methods, please email us at email@example.com for assistance.

The CV building workshop was very useful, I used to apply for 50 jobs and only received 5 calls, now I have submitted 4/5 CVs and receive phone calls for all of them - Final year student at ARU London
I continued attending the sessions even though I already completed the stamps within my Employability Passport, I enjoy listening and learning about all aspects of employability - Final year student at ARU London
I found CV sign off really helpful, especially when the advisor helps you to improve it and gives you tips on how to answer interview questions - Graduate from ARU London
I had the chance to meet employers face to face instead of just having lecturers teaching the topic. It definitely helped when I was able to communicate with those who were in the work environment so it's more realistic - First year student ARU London
