Potential students are encouraged to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if they can demonstrate the learning outcomes of a module (or modules) have been met. This application must be supported by appropriate evidence; usually in the form of certificates and course information materials relating to the previous studies. ARU London can only accept qualifications which have been studied and passed within five years of the start date of any new programme. Any application must be made at least two weeks before the start of studies. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) considers the knowledge you have earned through work, study and life experiences. You’ll be required to evidence relevant professional skills. If you'd like to discuss your eligibility for RPEL, please email admissions@london.aru.ac.uk. What you need to know before applying Can my qualification be used for RPL? Your prior learning must be at higher education level, which means it must be level 4 or above. It should also be relevant in content with comparable modules to those on our programmes. To check if you are eligible for RPL prior to submitting an application please email our admissions team copies of your certificate and transcript. To make a full assessment the transcript must display the level of study and credit value. Please email admissions on admissions@london.aru.ac.uk. How much credit can I claim? The maximum credit you can be awarded is two-thirds of the total credit requirement of your course. However, if you are applying for RPEL the maximum you can be award is half of the total credit requirement on your course. These limits apply to our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
