Disability and Dyslexia Advisor

Anglia Ruskin University London offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business and Management; Finance and Accounting; Hospitality, Events and Tourism; Health; and Law. We currently have over 6,000 students, located at our East London campus, very close to the East India Docklands Light Railway stop.

We are seeking an experienced and student-focused professional to join our Wellbeing Team as a Disability and Dyslexia Advisor.

The successful candidate will provide specialist advice and support to students with disabilities, specific learning differences, autism, and mental health conditions. Responsibilities include screening students for specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), producing Statements of Reasonable Adjustment (SORAs), and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate support is in place.

Applicants should have substantial experience in disability support within education, ideally in higher education, and possess a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, assistive technologies, and the Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) process.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to inclusive practice and continuous service improvement.

Credit Controller

ARU London is seeking an experienced and meticulous Credit Controller to join our Finance Department. This position is pivotal to maintaining the University’s financial sustainability by managing student and commercial debtor accounts, ensuring the prompt collection of tuition fees, and safeguarding the accuracy of financial records. The successful candidate will provide a professional, student-focused service and contribute to the continuous enhancement of credit control processes.

Key Responsibilities 


The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain accurate and current records of all student receivables, ensuring timely collection of tuition fees.
  • Proactively contact students regarding overdue payments via email, telephone, and formal correspondence, implementing escalation procedures and arranging payment plans where necessary.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Provide clear and professional advice to students on payment schedules, outstanding balances, and available payment options.
  • Prepare regular management reports on debtor balances, aged debt analysis, cash collections, and bad debt provisions.
  • Ensure adherence to ARU London’s credit control policies and support the continuous improvement of financial processes.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues in Finance, Admissions, and Academic departments to resolve fee-related queries and maintain accurate financial data across systems.
  • Work on the Student Finance portal to ensure tuition fees are collected promptly and accurately.

We are seeking an experienced and student-focused professional to lead our Wellbeing and Inclusion services. This strategic role will oversee the delivery of counselling, disability support, and wellbeing services, ensuring students receive timely, tailored support that enables them to thrive academically and personally. You will manage high-risk cases, coordinate responses to critical incidents, and work closely with internal teams and external agencies to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will bring substantial leadership experience, a qualification in counselling or mental health, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by diverse student populations. You will be confident in implementing policies around mental health, disability, and safeguarding, and have a strong grasp of relevant legislation including the Equality Act 2010. Your ability to lead teams, manage complex cases, and deliver training will be key to championing our inclusive support strategy.

Due to continued growth in demand for our student-focused courses, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Health to join our teaching team.

We are looking for an academic with relevant sector experience and a strong grounding in health and social care, particularly Public and Community Health. Applicants should have an excellent understanding of contemporary sector issues and challenges, with experience of delivering a range of health and social care modules. Familiarity with digital and AI-driven healthcare would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will bring broad subject knowledge and the flexibility to teach some evenings and Saturdays, alongside weekday delivery. Above all, they will be inspirational, supportive, and passionate about providing transformative education. All teaching is face-to-face in our well-resourced London campus.

Applicants should hold at least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline; a doctoral qualification is desirable. Industry experience will be an advantage, as will fellowship (or commitment to achieve fellowship) of the HEA.

  • Designing, reviewing and developing module material in line with contemporary evidence / data and professional body requirements, where applicable. 
  • Delivering lectures, tutorials and seminars in line with the prepared module plan, with reference to module documentation and module contact hours.
