International Students

Visa Compliance

The Visa Compliance Team is here to ensure your visa is protected during your studies at ARUL from enrolment to graduation.

As a Student Route (formerly Tier 4) sponsor of International students, the University has a responsibility to the UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) to undertake a number of sponsorship duties for the students sponsored by ARUL under the Student Route.

Some of these duties include:

  • Monitoring the registration of international students and ensuring we hold valid copies of ID and visa documents or pending applications and that we have up to date contact details on file
  • Monitoring the attendance and engagement of students studying at ARU with a Student Visa sponsored by ARU.
  • Reporting changes of circumstances to the UKVI if a student withdraws, intermits, goes on placement or changes course and successful course completion.

How to book an appointment

Appointments are only available during term time. If you would like to book an appointment, please book in advance as we do not accept same-day bookings. You will have up to 24 hours prior to the appointment to book and the option to choose in-person appointments, every Tuesday between 10-11am or virtual appointments every Wednesday 2-3:30pm, each appointment lasting 15mins.

Once you book an appointment, it cannot be edited or cancelled within 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late, the meeting will be cancelled, and you will need to re-book another appointment.

If it is urgent and no appointments are available, you will need to contact us at Londonvisacompliance@aru.ac.uk.

We also recommend that you carefully read the International Student Handbook, before scheduling an appointment, as you may find the answer to your query. It contains lots of useful information about moving to the UK and what you can expect when you start your course. Such as information on immigration regulations, employment in the UK, healthcare, accommodation and lots of information about settling into the UK way of life
