Elizabeth Solaru Inspires at ARU London – A Masterclass in Luxury, Resilience, and Opportunity
On 11th March 2025, ARU London had the privilege of hosting Elizabeth Solaru in commemoration of Women’s History Month. A globally renowned luxury expert, entrepreneur, and best-selling author, Elizabeth boasts over 20 years of experience catering to global celebrities, Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWIs), and royalty. Her insightful and inspiring session left a profound impact on both students and professionals alike.
From microbiologist and headhunter to award-winning luxury entrepreneur, Elizabeth’s career journey is a true testament to adaptability, resilience, and strategic vision. She captivated the audience with her authentic storytelling, sharing her transition into the luxury industry and how she built a brand that collaborates with prestigious names such as FENDI, Harrods, and JP Morgan. Elizabeth also highlighted the necessary steps to turn a vision into reality, empowering attendees with actionable insights.
Elizabeth discussed how volunteering across different sectors helped shape her career, enabling her to build valuable connections and unlock unexpected opportunities. She shared tips on how to create opportunities when they may not exist and doing jobs others may not want to do to gain experience. As a woman excelling in male dominated sectors, she provided practical strategies for overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities, and breaking barriers in high- end markets.
Drawing from her latest book, The Luxpreneur: How to Start and Build a Successful Luxury Brand, Elizabeth offered expert advice on recognising and leveraging opportunities in the luxury industry. She discussed the different between traditional and digital marketing, using King Charles as an example of transitioning from one to the other. Having worked with discerning clientele worldwide, she revealed the psychology behind luxury sales, the importance of exclusivity, and strategies to attract and retain elite customers.
Elizabeth shared her passion for guiding aspiring entrepreneurs, encouraged students to seek mentorship, stay curious, and embrace continuous learning to excel in their careers. Elizabeth emphasised why a business-oriented mindset is crucial, regardless of the sector - whether in the public sector, NHS, or private industry. She inspired attendees to think entrepreneurially, even within structured career paths.
Attendees admired Elizabeth’s candid and engaging style as she shared her journey, offering valuable life lessons and industry insights. One student remarked that her main takeaway from the session was to ‘Have confidence in yourself and stay focused on your goals,’ perfectly capturing the essence of Elizabeth’s inspiring talk for Women’s History Month.
