What happens when students step beyond the classroom and into a room full of employers, industry professionals and career opportunities? That was the experience for students who attended our Careers Fair & Experience: Beyond the Degree, held over two days at ARU London.
From the moment they arrived, students were encouraged to do more than simply collect information. They were invited to start conversations, build confidence and explore what their future could look like. Across both days, around 300 students attended each day, meeting employers, professional bodies and organisations from a wide range of sectors, including finance, construction, hospitality, education, law, healthcare and community services.
Alongside the fair, the Experience Zones gave students the chance to put employability into practice. Whether updating their professional image with a LinkedIn headshot, refining their elevator pitch, receiving CV feedback, taking part in mock interviews or exploring entrepreneurial opportunities, students left with tangible tools to support their next steps.
The event also brought together an impressive range of organisations, including NatWest Bank, Mace Group, Leonardo Hotels, ACCA, The University of Law, InterContinental London Park Lane and many others, creating valuable opportunities for students to connect directly with industry professionals and gain insights into their chosen fields.
Students were encouraged to take part in the Experience Zone Bingo challenge, and the chance to win exciting prizes sparked enthusiastic participation.
More than a careers fair, the event was a reminder that career development starts with curiosity, confidence and connection. Students are encouraged to explore more events organised by the Employability Service Team at ARU London on Handshake, where they can discover new opportunities, build valuable skills and take proactive steps towards their future careers.
