Enterprise Awareness Week: Freelancing Opportunities
The recently held Enterprise Awareness Week: Freelancing Opportunities was a tremendous success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of students. The week highlighted how freelancing can be an excellent way for students to monetize their skills, gain valuable experience, and support career development, while also encouraging them to consider freelancing as an alternative to traditional employment.
Key discussions during the event highlighted the various benefits of freelancing, including how it can accelerate career growth. The importance of networking and validating services through customer feedback was also emphasized, demonstrating how these factors contribute to building a successful freelancing career.
Michael Spalding, a key speaker, encouraged students to focus on developing their personal brands. He emphasised the importance of gaining valuable working experience, building a strong personal brand, and setting long-term career goals. He highlighted how freelancing can serve as a solid foundation to validate your product or service to launch a business.
Throughout the week, students actively contributed to the event’s success by showcasing their freelancing activities and networking within each other. Their participation not only demonstrated their individual talents but also inspired their peers to explore their own skills and interests, encouraging them to pursue freelancing ventures in areas they are passionate about.
Some of the students who played a pivotal role in making the week a success, including:
- Abilene Adorno Ozuna - Secretauhair
- Belen Varea Martinez - Blossom Vibes
- Ivan Veseliny Petrov - Web design/development
Enterprise HUB has launched a new branded tile on the VLE called "Freelancer Market Place" This new tile allows students to showcase their freelancing businesses, offering them an excellent opportunity to enter the market and actively engage in business.
As a result of the event, students now have a fantastic opportunity to do business and connect with fellow students. We encourage everyone to explore the Freelancer Marketplace, where students can see what their peers are offering. As the marketplace continues to grow, new freelancers will be added, creating even more opportunities for students to connect, collaborate, and succeed in the freelancing world.
