On the 22nd, 28th and 30th July, ARUL celebrated the achievements of approximately 1,500 graduates from the 2021/22 academic year. ARUL held a total of seven ceremonies organised within the wonderful medieval setting of Chelmsford Cathedral, where guests and academics applauded our graduates as they were introduced by the Principal to the Vice-Chancellor, who acknowledged their success as they crossed the stage wearing traditional academic gowns and mortar boards to rapturous celebrations.
Each ceremony began with the formal academic procession, where live musicians sounded the arrival of the ARUL academic staff following the academic mace, before the University mace led the Vice-Chancellor's party to the stage. Following a stirring celebratory speech by the Vice-Chancellor, each student had their name and Award read to the audience by the Principal; whereby they crossed the stage as a sign of their progression from student to graduate. The presentation of graduates was interrupted at each ceremony by an inspirational speech by a senior ARUL academic, before returning to the reading of names. Finally. each Ceremony was concluded by the vote of thanks from one of our wonderful new graduates before the Vice-Chancellor formally conferred the Awards to all presented to loud celebrations.
The formal ceremonies were followed by many photographs of graduates with friends, families, and academics, with much throwing of mortar boards, many flowers, tear of joy and much happiness. Graduates, families and academics then proceeded to the University Chelmsford Campus for drinks and further celbrations.
All events were streamed live and will be available to view on Youtube soon.
Many congratulations to all of our excellent new graduates.
