Social Enterprise Panel Event
Thanks to all the students who joined our insightful talk on Social Enterprise Day on Thursday the 17th! At ARUL we celebrated with a panel discussion. Four owners of London-based social enterprises spoke about the importance of setting up businesses with a positive social impact.
The event included Tom Levitt from Fair for You, Annette Helliwell from Repair Café, Anne Saliu from Benevolence and Abdirahim Hassan from Coffee Afrique. While all of these businesses have very different causes and desired outputs, they all aim to innovatively improve society for the better.
Students really enjoyed learning about these great enterprises, and how what they learnt could help with their own ambitions after graduating, for those that may wish to start their own business with a great cause one day!
A group of Event management students were also present and represented an East India based: women’s enterprise ‘Tati’; founded by Maher Anjum. Clothing, textiles, art work and food items - reflective of the Bangla culture; were available for viewing and for sampling.
