ARU 2023 Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards have launched!

ARU's Alumni Office is proud to announce that our 2023 Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards have launched. Designed to publicly recognise and celebrate alumni achievement, these awards demonstrate that ARU (or its predecessor institutions) is your university for life.

There is no doubt that our success and the success of our alumni are inextricably linked. Please do consider nominating someone you know, asking a friend or colleague to nominate you, or nominating yourself.

Wanting to open up our awards to as many alumni as possible, we’re delighted to announce seven categories:

  • Alumni Sustainability Champion Award
  • Alumni Public Service Award
  • Alumni Voluntary Service Award
  • Alumni Rising Star Award
  • Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award
  • Alumni Contribution to Culture Award
  • Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award

We are asking nominators to provide a statement describing the qualities and contributions that make their nominee a worthy recipient of an award, demonstrating how the nominee’s contribution has made a difference within their chosen profession of their community, and why they should be publicly recognised. To learn more about the category criteria and judging process, and to download the nomination form, please visit our Alumni Awards webpage.

If you have any queries, please contact your Alumni Officer, Kim Otovwe.

The closing date for nominations is Monday 12 December, and the judging panel, a subsidiary of our Alumni Board, will meet in January.

The awards evening will take place on Thursday 20 April, and promises to be a great event. To take a look back at our awards evening celebrated last year, click here.
