Graduation Dates July 2023
Our graduation award ceremonies are a major highlight of the academic year, and a fantastic opportunity for you to celebrate your hard work and academic achievement with your family and friends. We will be celebrating with 9 ceremonies running across four days and hosted in Chelmsford Cathedral- please refer to the images for the dates broken down by course.
Bookings will open on 24th April and close 8th June with students allowed to book and bring 2 guests each – you will receive a contact to your student e-mail in April with confirmation of the date you are due to attend and how to book.

You will have separately received a contact to our Leavers Ball hosted in London on the 14th April, please RSVP to confirm your place by following the Eventbrite link sent to your e-mail or contact leaversball@london.aru.ac.uk for more details- this event is for students and staff only, and is a separate celebration to the Graduation event held over the summer.
RMT Strike Action 20th July
We are aware that there is planned RMT strike action which will impact those travelling by train on Thursday 20 July. The graduation ceremonies will be taking place in Chelmsford as usual on Thursday 20 July and so to avoid being impacted by any train cancellations / delays we ask that you plan your journey ahead of time. During previous RMT strike action, trains have been running between London and Chelmsford, but with a less frequent service and so planning ahead and allowing extra time for travel is essential. If you wish to drive to graduation then please use the public parking options within Chelmsford as there is no parking on campus at ARU. Any questions please contact graduation@aru.ac.uk

It’s important to know how your going to make your way to and from your ceremony. Information about travelling to Chelmsford Cathedral can be found via chelmsfordcathedral.org.uk/how-to-get-there.html. Chelmsford also has two park and ride sites which provide a regular service to the city centre, information can be found via essexhighways.org/Getting-Around/bus/park-and-ride.aspx. Please note that parking is not available on campus or at the cathedral.
