Upaya Recruitment is a recruitment company for doctors, helping NHS fullfill vacancies.
What inspired you to set up Upaya Recruitment?
I got inspired to create this business to have a positive impact over the health system.
What challenges have you faced so far in building Upaya Recruitment?
Having to work in every aspect of the business and overcome trades that were my challenges.
How can ARU London students benefit from using Upaya Recruitment?
They can benefit from the encouragement to bring their vision and idea to life, be committed, and persevere to make it successful!
What advice would you give to students and/or other young women who are trying to become an entrepreneur or start their own businesses?
Build the network, research well the market, to a pilot test, earn references from buyers.
How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship within their careers?
- You could encourage women by creating templates explaining well the types of business legal structure
- Template for understanding the legal dates for HMRC
- Creating networking events where students can meet established professionals and have 1:1 to validate idea, rely on more women who succeeded and let their story inspire new women entrepreneurs, adhere to specialised groups in the domain that they are interested.
What is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
To persevere and find likeminded people who are supportive, create partnerships because it easier when more people are putting the mind together, be fair to your partners everyone is important in the business.
Are there any female leaders you find inspirational?
The Mayor of Newham: Rokhsana Fiaz OBE because she is present from business launches to networking events, social causes and I appreciate being accessible to the people in the borough.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Success is when preparation meets opportunity! Be prepared!
