As part of our commitment to student development and experience, we offer a range of Scholarships to our postgraduate students. This includes our Masters Scholarship Programme, where students have the chance to receive 50% off of their Master’s Degree.
We spoke to Mansoor Salihi, a successful applicant for our master’s Scholarship Programme to see how he feels about winning the scholarship, as well as his general experience in postgraduate studies in Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Health and Social Care.
‘I decided to study for a master’s degree because I can see the growing importance in recent years of the Social and Health Care sector, particularly from a business perspective. I think doing a master’s degree at ARUL has given me the ability to explore this. To be able to use my degree to understand more of how I can make a difference in the healthcare industry in the UK would be invaluable for me.
My reason for applying for a scholarship is for the financial incentive. I am a refugee from Afghanistan and find the financial barriers to starting a new life here in the UK challenging. The 50% reduction in tuition fees has helped me with this transition and provided some relief. It has given me the opportunity to explore my career and educational interests further, with the goal of really making a difference in society.
After completing my master’s degree, I aspire to help society’s most vulnerable people. By helping those that are troubled and in need of help, I would like to improve the UK’s healthcare services, which have been under a lot of strain in recent years and critically need support. The scholarship that ARU London has offered me, is one step closer to my ambitions of bettering the health and social care system here in the UK.’
