Tesco's Black History Month Celebration
ARU London was proud to participate in Tesco’s Black History Month 2026 celebrations, held on 8 October at Stratford Town Hall, alongside its valued business collaborator, Sameera Fashions Ltd. The event provided a meaningful platform to celebrate Black history, heritage, culture and achievements, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds in a shared spirit of unity, recognition and inclusion.
The participation of ARU London students and staff reflected the university’s ongoing commitment to diversity, cultural awareness and meaningful engagement beyond the classroom.
Building on a collaboration previously showcased across the ARU London campus, Sameera Fashions Ltd, founded by ARU London alumna, proudly sponsored specially designed T-shirts for Tesco’s Black History Month celebrations. This contribution highlighted how entrepreneurship, creativity and education can work together to make a positive impact beyond their traditional boundaries. More than a celebration, the occasion demonstrated the value of partnerships that connect academic institutions, businesses and wider communities, creating opportunities to champion diversity, celebrate Black excellence and inspire future generations.
Looking ahead, we are delighted to continue this collaboration with Tesco as an annual celebration every October. Building on this year's successful event, we hope to strengthen our participation in the years to come, bringing even greater cultural representation, student involvement and creative contributions to the celebrations. Through this ongoing partnership, ARU London and Sameera Fashions Ltd look forward to celebrating Black History Month with Tesco each year, fostering meaningful connections and creating a lasting positive impact within the wider community.
